Exhibition View of “Space-Time Layer: CAFAM Collection of Graduate Works Exhibition”

On June 13, 2025, “Space-Time Layer: CAFAM Collection of Graduate Works Exhibition” had a grand opening ceremony at the Fuminli New Cultural District in Zhengzhou. The exhibition displays nearly 80 sets of graduate works collected by the Central Academy of Fine Arts over the past decade. Covering a variety of forms such as Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, video, installation and mixed media, these works are full of cutting-edge perspectives and thinking vitality of young artists. When they appear at the old street featuring the culture of Hui Nationality at Guangcheng District, it does not only echo the ongoing CAFA Graduation Season, but it also resonates with the long-standing local context of Zhengzhou, an ancient capital of five dynasties in the central plains of China.

Unfolded in four sections “Brilliant Chapter”, “Symbiosis”, “Growth” and “Recruitment”,“Space-Time Layer: CAFAM Collection of Graduate Works Exhibition”highlights the outstanding exploration of young artists in cultural inheritance, ecological care, individual narrative and cross-disciplinary innovation. Besides, selected works by young teachers from CAFA are also displayed outside the exhibition hall, reflecting the inter-generational inheritance of art education from students to teachers as well as the mutual contributions between teaching and learning.

Honored guests who attended the opening ceremony included: Lin Mao, President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (abbr. CAFA), members of leadership and students from CAFA, leaders and guests from the Henan Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Henan Artists Association, guests from art colleges and art circles, as well as organizers of this exhibition. Sun Han, Deputy Secretary of the Zhengzhou Guancheng Hui District Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, Han Wenchao, Curator of the Exhibition and Secretary of the Party Branch at the CAFA Art Museum, Guo Shuang, a representative of the participating artists, Zou Dawen, a representative of the participating young teachers, and Xie Yongxin, a student representative of the 2025 CAFA graduation Season, delivered speeches successively.

At the end of the opening ceremony, Lin Mao, President of CAFA, Li Ming, Vice Chairman of the Henan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Vice Chairman of the Henan Artists Association, Sun Han, Deputy Secretary of the Guancheng Hui District Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, Dong Jiwu, Director and Secretary of the Henan Art Museum, Li Xiaolei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guancheng Hui District Committee and Head of Publicity Department, Gu Hequn, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Jianzhong Group, and Gao Gao, Deputy Director of the CAFA Art Museum, jointly announced the opening of the“Space-Time Layer: CAFAM Collection of Graduate Works Exhibition”.

The exhibition remains on view till August 15.
